CALL FOR CALAMERICANA VOLUNTEERS

Thank you to all who have volunteered to help us build the CalAmericana Association.  Your volunteerism validates your CalAmericana Association's mission to advance California's legacy and leadership in roots Americana music.

Below are the projects at the CalAmericana Association. Website development leads the list and there are small, mid-size and large projects.  There is a budget for the mid-size and large web development projects.

  1. Web Site Development: Volunteers, some compensated, are needed for the following web pages

    • Home/News: The first priority is to allow home page visitors to add or remove themselves from the CalAmericana email list.  The next priority is to develop the home page postings as more of a blog/message board that will provide for comments, forwarding and engage site visitors.

    • Membership: The membership section's priority is to enable new members to join on-line.  This will gather member information, provide payment support systems and email responses.

    • DJs-Listen: The first priority for the DJs-Listen page is to expand it to include the first 100 of an estimated 250 Americana radio, Internet and club DJs who are based in California.  Second is to establish a listening stream of CalAmericana music.

  2. Membership: A CalAmericana invitational email needs to be developed and sent to bands on the CalAmericana Bands page.  A similar membership effort will need to be directed at California's radio, Internet and club Americana DJs.

  3. Development Committee: Beside membership, CalAmericana Association has identified donations, sponsorships, grants and fund raising events as methods of financing the organization.

  4. Southern California Chapter: A statewide organization needs Northern and Southern California chapters at least. The effort has begun but Southern California residents will need to build and sustain CalAmericana's SoCal chapter.

  5. Publicity Committee: Publicists are needed to raise the visibility of the CalAmericana Association itself, particularly to gather and distribute news and information of interest to readers of the CalAmericana Association e-newsletter.
      • Seeking volunteers for the Communications Committee.
      • Seeking a news editor.

  6. Special Projects: Volunteers have been coming forward to offer their particular skill to a particular project.  If you have an idea, send it in.  The CalAmericana Association prides itself on listening to the community that it serves.
